SpPHO hosts first official 3 for 1 Bracelet DaySpPHO’s first official 3 for 1 Bracelet Day took place on November 11, 2007, where volunteers with developmental disabilities and volunteer staff raised more than $1,200 in less than two hours for Meals on Wheels Association of America and Doctors Without Borders. SpPHO volunteers have also hosted 3 for 1 Bracelet Days at various community events and will continue to participate at and coordinate events throughout 2008!

About 3 for 1 Bracelet Day(s)

3 for 1 Bracelet Days are an opportunity for individuals with developmental disabilities to build self-esteem and social awareness through fundraising for two noteworthy causes: hunger (Meals on Wheels Association of America) and healthcare (Doctors Without Borders). SpPHO chose to support these two vital charities since they are easy for our volunteers with developmental disabilities to conceptualize — everyone needs food and medicine!

SpPHO’s 3 for 1 Bracelet Days are a rare opportunity to support three charities with a single donation (3 for 1), in exchange for our SpPHO bracelet. First, you support SpPHO’s core mission: to give individuals with developmental disabilities the chance to build self-esteem and social awareness by helping others. And you are financially supporting two valuable organizations: Meals on Wheels Association of America and Doctors Without Borders — since SpPHO gives 100% of your donation in equal portions to these two worthy causes.

To make this possible, our generous donors and corporate sponsors provide funding for all administrative costs, including the cost of our special bracelets.

About Special Business Partners

In addition to selling SpPHO-branded bracelets at 3 for 1 Bracelet Days, SpPHO partners with community merchants to sell SpPHO bracelets at their stores – an easy way for business owners to make a difference and help special people in their community!

SpPHO’s Special Business Partners program matches each merchant with a volunteer with developmental disabilities who delivers our SpPHO-branded ‘3 for 1 Bracelet Days’ bracelets to each participating business, replenishes bracelets as needed and collects donations for SpPHO’s two beneficiaries ― Meals on Wheels Association of America and Doctors Without Borders ― at a convenient time. SpPHO volunteer staff is also involved to provide guidance throughout each partnership.
